RULES FOR THE NATURAL ABILITY TEST: 1. This event will be held under the rules & regulations of the kennel union of Southern Africa. 2. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. 3. Bitches in season within the precincts of the event are forbidden. 4. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the event is forbidden. 5. Puppies under four (4) months are not eligible for competition. 6. All persons attending the event must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 7. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. 8. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 9. All dogs are to be kept on leash at all times. 10. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Reg. 4 of Schedule 4 and reg. 31 of Schedule 3 11. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to the Natural Ability Test so far as they can be relevant and so far as they do not conflict withthe specific terms of this Schedule 5C(03). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 12. Anyone on the venue at the NAT openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section 1.11.5, of Schedule 5C(03). 13. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 14. If the club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a NAT, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when a fresh draw may be made and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned tests. 15. The NAT Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the NAT if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials 16. The committee reserves the right to appoint other judges. 17. The committee reserves the right to withdraw judging contracts. 18. All dogs born on or after 1st September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 19. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. DEFINITION OF THE TEST: 1. NATURAL ABILITY TEST is for German Shorthaired Pointers of any age, and will consist of a pass/fail score. No prizes will be awarded. Other Hunt Point Retrieve (HPR) breeds (e.g. Weimaraners, Wirehaired Pointers) may enter the above tests, and will also be awarded a pass/fail score, but cannot receive SAHR points.

PRIZES: No prizes will be awarded. Certificates for those who pass will be issued manually on the day of the test. CATERING: Meals in the form of light breakfasts and lunches will be available for Competitors and their assistants/handlers/spouses. The meal request form will be sent out under separate cover. Please provide your own liquid refreshments. LIABILITY: The Committee will exercise all reasonable care in conducting the event, but it must be clearly understood that, due to the nature of the sport, competitors, spectators and officials are invited to enter at their own risk and in so doing absolve the Club, Committee and Landowners from any claim whatsoever arising from loss or damage by, or to, any person or property during the course of the trials.
