| RULES FOR THE FIELD TRIALS: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the trials must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season within the precincts of the Trial are forbidden. 3. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 4. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Field Trials so far as they can be relevant to Field Trials and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of Schedule 5C(5). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 5. Anyone on the venue at a Trial openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section A11.2, of Schedule 5C(5). 6. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with the exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 7. If the Club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Trial, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the stakes that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned stakes. 8. The Field Trial Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Trials if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials. 9. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the field trial, the Field Trial Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 10. All dogs born on or after 01 September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 11. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. VET ON CALL: RAND-EN-DAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL: 51 Cecil Knight Road, Rand-en-Dal, 011 660 3110 DEFINITION OF THE STAKES: 1. YOUTH HUNTING TEST (SA-VJP) is open Pointing Breeds from six months and not exceeding 18 months of age, dating from and inclusive of the date of its birth on the first day of the test. It is a young dog natural ability test. 2. ADVANCED HUNTING TEST (SA-HZP) / OLDER DOG HUNTING TEST (SA-OZP) is open to Pointing Breeds under 2 years of age without restriction as to previous performance. The SA-HZP was developed to evaluate the natural abilities of a young dog, especially order to identify the best dogs for breeding and rate the breeding quality of their parents. For this reason the test is open to dogs up to an age of two years. and must have hunting ability, bird sense and show some field training. If dogs due to unforeseen circumstances can’t be tested before turning two years, they are allowed to run the test to a maximum age of 6 years. In that case the test will be named SA-OZP (Older Dog Hunting test). 3. UTILITY HUNTING TEST (SA-VGP) is a performance test for Pointing Breeds with the aim to produce dogs for the ethical conduct of hunting and to foster the knowledge of training and handling of these dogs in the hunting community. The dog must be a minimum of one (1) year old. 4. AFTER SHOT HUNTING TEST (SA-VPS) is a performance test for all Gundog breeds with the aim to produce dogs for the ethical conduct of hunting and to foster the knowledge of training and handling of these dogs in the hunting community. The dog must be a minimum of one (1) year old. | |||
