Order in Which Sakes are to be run: - The Stakes shall be run concurrently THE DRAW: Draw for running order conducted on Thursday, April 24, 8:00 pm at Nethercourt Farm, Greyton ENTRY RULES: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the Tests must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season may be allowed to enter at the sole discretion of the Club. 3. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 4. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials and Tests as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Tests so far as they can be relevant to Tests and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of Schedule 5C(6) Versatile Tests – Pointing Breeds and Schedule 5C(4) Shooting Ratings. A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 5. Anyone on the venue at a Test openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section A.11.2 of Schedule 5C(6) or Section G2 of Schedule 5C(4).. 6. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 7. If the club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Test, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the tests that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned tests. 8. The Test Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Tests if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials. 9. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the Meeting, the Test Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 10. All dogs born on or after the 1st September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 11. JUDGES HAVE THE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. DEFINITIONS of the STAKES: DERBY STAKE: Is open only to dogs which are not more than twenty-four (24) months of age on the date the trial is being run. The dog remains a Derby candidate for that season, irrespective of prizes won.________________________________________ MAIDEN STAKE: Is confined to dogs which have not been placed first in two (2) previous Maiden Stakes or not been placed first, second or third in a previous Brace, Open, Open Elite, or Championship Stake at a Field Trial for HPR breeds prior to the date of closing of entries and that have passed one of more of the following tests: • SA-Novice or SA-AZP/SA-AZP(Y) Test – Schedule 5C(6) Versatile Tests – Pointing Breeds, or • SA-HZP/OZP or SA-VGP – Schedule 5C(5) Gundog Hunting Tests. ________________________________________ LIMITATION OF ENTRIES: No handler may handle more than three (3) dogs in a single Stake unless he provides an assistant to hold the dogs. ________________________________________ NATURE OF THE TRIAL: The system of judging will be entirely at the discretion of the Judges in accordance with the HPR FIELD TRIALS as set out in Schedule 5C(3) of the Constitution of KUSA. ________________________________________ DEFINITIONS of the VERSATILE Tests – 5C(6) SA-DERBY TEST: Is open only to dogs which are not less than 5 months nor older than 18 months of age on the date the Test is being run. Dogs that have previously entered this Test twice are not eligible for entry. ________________________________________ SA-NOVICE TEST: Is open to all dogs without restriction as to age. Dogs that have previously entered this Test twice are not eligible for entry. ________________________________________ SA-OLDER DOG ELITE TEST: Is open only to dogs which are not older than 6 years of age on the date the Test is being run. Dogs that have previously entered this Test twice are not eligible for entry. ________________________________________ LIMITATION OF ENTRIES: No person shall handle more than two dogs in any one Test. ________________________________________ NATURE OF the TESTS: The system of judging will be entirely at the discretion of the Judges in accordance with the Versatile Tests for Pointing Breeds as set out in Schedule 5(C)6 of the Constitution of KUSA. ________________________________________ DEFINITIONS of the SHOOTING RATINGS Classes – 5C(4) NOVICE SHOOTING DOG (NSD): Novice Shooting Dog (NSD) is open to all young or untrained inexperienced dogs to determine if they have hunting aptitudes. ________________________________________ NOVICE RETRIEVING DOG (NRD): Novice Retrieving Dog (NRD) is open to any dog of any age that has met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog test. ________________________________________ SHOOTING DOG (SD): Shooting Dog (SD) is open to all dogs of any age that have met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog, and must have hunting ability, bird sense and show some field training. ________________________________________ RETRIEVING DOG (RD): Retrieving Dog (RD) is open to any dog of any age that has met the minimum requirements of the Novice Retrieving dog test. ________________________________________ SHOOTING DOG EXCELLENT (SDX): Shooting Dog Excellent (SDX) is open to all dogs of any age that have met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog and the Shooting Dog tests and must give a polished and finished performance showing both class and style.________________________________________ RETRIEVING DOG EXCELLENT (RDX) Retrieving Dog Excellent (RDX) is open to any dog of any age that has met the minimum requirements of the Novice Retrieving Dog and the Retrieving Dog tests. ________________________________________ LIMITATION OF ENTRIES: No person shall handle more than two dogs in any one Class. No dog may be entered in more than three (3) Classes on the day. ________________________________________ NATURE OF The CLASSES: The system of judging will be entirely at the discretion of the Judges in accordance with the Shooting Ratings as set out in Schedule 5(C)4 of the Constitution of KUSA.

PRIZES: 1. Certificates for dogs passing the Tests. Special club awards may be given in the form of a Certificate or Trophy, at the discretion of the committee. CATERING: Self-catered. A braai fire, utensils and cutlery will be available. Only Members of the Kennel Union shall be entitled to enter dogs in their registered ownership in any Open, Championship, FQ Stake or Natural Ability Test in any field trial licensed by the Kennel Union.
