| PRIZES: Certificates for dogs passing the Test. RULES FOR THE FIELD TRIALS: 1. All Handlers are personally responsible for the control of their dogs at all times and shall be personally liable for any claims which may be made in respect of injuries which may arise or be caused by their dogs. All persons attending the trials must consider themselves absolutely under the control of the Officials. 2. All dogs must be registered with KUSA before entry. Bitches in season within the precincts of the Trial are forbidden. 3. Castrated dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry. 4. The Regulations relating to licensing and to all other matters to do with Field Trials as set in Schedule 3 (Championship Breed Shows) and Schedule 4 (Non-Championship Breed Shows) of the Constitution of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa shall apply to Field Trials so far as they can be relevant to Field Trials and so far as they do not conflict with the specific terms of Schedule 5C(3) and Schedule 5C(4). A copy of the rules will be available at the trials. 5. Anyone on the venue at a Trial openly impugning the decision of a Judge or Judges shall render himself liable to be reported to KUSA under the provisions of KUSA Schedule 1, unless he is availing himself of Section 1.9.3, of Schedule 5C(3) and Section H.2 of Schedule 5C(4). 6. Conditions attracting immediate disqualification are set out in Regulation 31 of Schedule 3 of KUSA Regulations for Championship Shows (with the exception of clauses 31.3.4, 31.3.6 and 31.3.14). 7. If the Club considers the weather and/or venue unfit for the holding of a Trial, the meeting may be held at a different venue or postponed from day to day until the end of the week, when the stakes that are not decided upon may be abandoned and the entry fees refunded, or a fresh draw may be made and a fresh date fixed for the abandoned stakes. 8. The Field Trial Committee reserves the right to change the advertised venue of the Trials if this becomes necessary due to fire, flooding, etc, at the time of the event. KUSA must be informed on the first working day after the field trials. 9. If an advertised Judge is prevented from filling his engagement for either the whole or part of the field trial, the Field Trial Committee shall have the right to appoint another Judge. 10. All dogs born on or after 01 September 2010 must have a microchip certificate. 11. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION. Where the Rule or Guide does not cover a particular situation, the decision will remain with the appointed Judges on the day. DEFINITION OF THE STAKES: 1. NOVICE SHOOTING DOG (NSD) is open to all young or untrained, inexperienced dogs to determine if they have hunting aptitudes. The Novice Shooting Dog Test needs to be passed before any other tests are attempted. 2. SHOOTING DOG (SD) is open to all dogs of any age that have met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog, and must have hunting ability, bird sense and show some field training. 3. SHOOTING DOG EXCELLENT (SDX) is open to all dogs of any age that have met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog and the Shooting Dog tests and must give a polished and finished performance showing both class and style. 4. NOVICE RETRIEVING DOG (NRD) is open to any dog of any age that has met the minimum requirements of the Novice Shooting Dog Test. 5. RETRIEVING DOG (RD) is open to any dog of any age that has met the minimum requirements of the Novice Retrieving Dog Tests. 6. NATURAL ABILITY TEST is open to HPR dogs of any age. The Natural Ability Test aims to recognise those dogs that conform to the minimum standards of performance, conformation, and temperament that are considered acceptable in terms of the functional requirements of the Hunt Point and Retrieve (HPR) breeds. The Natural Ability Certificate does not represent an award in recognition of excellence, but rather a minimum qualification for HPR breeds in South Africa. | |||
